Triumph has unveiled the updated version of the Tiger Sports in the European market. The Triumph Tiger is among the most popular adventure tourer motorcycles on sale globally while the Sports version is more specific for touring on the highways. In terms of styling, the changes made are restricted to revised engine covers, new mirrors and a billet machined rear wheel spindle finisher. The bike retains the single sided swingarm as seen on its predecessor. The biggest update is the new powerplant on the 2016 Triumph Tiger Sports. The new motorcycle features the same revamped 1,050cc triple-cylinder engine that came to the Triumph Speed Triple earlier this year. Power figures aren’t out yet but the British bikemaker claims the new engine has better torque figures and is more fuel efficient than the older motor.
Other goodies on the bike includes a new ride-by-wire throttle, riding modes (rain, road and sport), traction control, cruise control, ABS and a slipper clutch. The exhaust system has also been revamped to beater suit the upcoming stringent Euro 4 norms. The Tiger Sports isn’t available in the Indian market yet. It sits between the Triumph Tiger 800 and the top of the line Tiger Explorer in the international market. Other details regarding the new Triumph Tiger Sports haven’t been revealed yet but watch this space for updates.
