In compliance with the BS IV emission norms which will come into effect from April 1, 2017, throughout the country, Honda has launched the updated version of their moto-scooter, the Dio. The scooter now gets a BS IV engine along with Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) feature. It also gets dual-tone colour scheme for four colour shades on offer – Pearl Sports Yellow, Vibrant Orange, Sports Red and Matte Axis Grey Metallic with black panels along with the dual tone Candy Jazzy Blue. The new Dio gets an addition of neatly integrated LED position lights on the handlebar panel, new graphics and under-seat mobile charging socket. The scooter now also features a new and aggressive-looking speedometer console.
The Honda Dio is powered by an updated 109cc BS-IV engine which develops 8.1PS @ 7000rpm and a peak torque of 8.9Nm @ 5500rpm. The scooter gets underbone-type chassis with multi-link suspension at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear. It gets MRF 90/100 R10 tubeless tyres both at the front and the rear. It gets 130mm drum brakes on both wheels assisted by Combined Braking System (CBS) for better braking. The scooter gets a 5.3-litre fuel tank; saddle height is good at 765mm and weighs 103 kg.
The new Honda Dio is priced at Rs 49,132 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It faces competition from the Yamaha Ray, Suzuki Swish and TVS Wego.
