The fourth round of JK Tyres FMSCI National Championship concluded on Sunday at the Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida. Those who have been following the event were in for quite a surprise as participants fought it out in various categories, namely Euro JK17, Formula LGB 4, Suzuki Gixxer Cup, JK SBK 600cc, JK SBK 1000cc and the Asia Cup of Road Racing, which saw international participation as well.
In the Euro JK17 class, Anindith Reddy won both the races on Saturday and continued with the same form on Sunday as well. He won the first race of the morning with a margin of 4 seconds and extended the margin to a whopping 10 seconds in the last race of the season. Anindith Reddy was at his clinical best as he bettered his pals and competitors Nayan Chatterjee and Vishnu Prasad comprehensively. Reddy took home the championship with a tally of 136 points.
Nayan finished second in both the races on Sunday, while Vishnu came third. However, in terms of overall points, Nayan and Vishnu saw a change of fortunes as the latter earned 109 points, while the former could salvage only 101 points to sit third in the championship. “It was a fantastic season,” champion Anindith said. “I began the first round slowly and it became really exciting by the second. This weekend has been amazing and I am glad to win the title once again,” he added.
The Formula LGB 4 saw Chittesh Mandody take home the championship with 73 points, closely followed by Sandeep Kumar of Dark Don racing, with 71 points, and Vishnu Prasad finishing third on the podium once again, with 62 points.
The Suzuki Gixxer Cup was won by Joseph Mathew who had the championship under his belt even before he raced. Mathew finished second in Sunday’s first race and fourth in the next race, taking his points tally to 64 and beat off a final scare from Sachin Chaudhary who finished with 49 points, despite coming first in both races. Malsawmdawnglia Na came third with 43 points.
Vijay Singh, with 27 points, was crowned champion in the JK SBK 600cc motorcycle category, while Anand Nagarajan, with 22 points, and Aman Ahlawat, with 16 points, finished second and third respectively. As far as JK SBK 1000cc was concerned, Simranjeet Singh finished at top of the stage with 30 points, while being chased by Dilip Lalwani and Deepak Ravikumar, with 22 points, each.
Asia Cup of Road Racing was won by Hyderabad boy Sai Rahil Pillarisetty, while his Indian brethren were nudged off the podium by Japanese riders Miu Nakahara and Mei Sakurai who finished second and third respectively.
