Most of the two-wheeler manufacturers have started upgrading their products to comply with the BS-IV norms, so that they can continue selling them in the Indian market. In fact, Bajaj has already completed the updation process for all of its motorcycles available in the market. On the other hand, TVS has just started, with the Wego, and the next is going to be its bestselling product, the Jupiter. A new video on the internet shows the 2017 model of the popular 110cc scooter standing in a dealer's stockyard, which reveals the new features ahead of its launch.
The video suggests that the new TVS Jupiter has received significant updates. Starting with the visual updates, the exclusive Royal Wine colour, dual tone seat, chrome mirrors and highlights of the MillionR edition will now be available with the ZX variant as well. Apart from that, the company might also introduce some other new colour options for the 2017 models. The ZX trim has also received the front disc brake from the special edition, which will be offered as an optional extra.
The scooter seems to be powered by the same 110cc CVT-i engine that makes 8PS of power and 8Nm of torque in its existing version. However, the ‘BS-IV’ moniker under the front-left indicator suggests that the motor has been updated to comply with the more stringent emissions standard. There is no information of any update in the performance figures yet.
The elimination of the headlight switch from the 2017 Jupiter suggests that the upcoming model will also get the Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) feature. The company is finally going to introduce its own version of CBS (Combi Brake System), which is currently available with the ZX variant only, in all the trims. TVS calls it ‘SBS,’ for ‘SYNC Braking System,’ and there will be a similar moniker on the front fender of the scooter as well. On the other hand, the disc brake-equipped trims will show a slightly different moniker with ‘Disc Brake’ written on it.
The company could also replace the car type mobile charger with a USB charging socket in the 2017 Jupiter. The company has already introduced the feature in the 2017 Wego and the MillionR edition also comes with a USB type charging socket. Other features of the scooter, such as the twin pilot lamps, LED tail lamp, 12" alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, front telescopic forks, gas-charged rear monoshock, shutter key lock, parking brake, dual side handle lock, dual retractable bag hooks and much more, will be continued in the new model as well.
We expect TVS to launch the 2017 Jupiter within this month. Another video making the rounds on the internet hints that the company is also planning to introduce the BS-IV and the AHO updates in the Apache RTR 200 4V soon.
