Yamaha has recently updated the FZ series and Fazer with new colours and graphics. The motorcycles now get Always Headlamps On (AHO) feature as standard. Yamaha was one of the first few manufacturers to get their motorcycles updated with BS-IV-compliant engines before the rules were enforced upon them by the Indian government. The FZ series has two variants – the FZ-FI and the FZS-FI. FZS-FI is now available in five colours including Hurricane Gray, Knight Red, Lightning Cyan, Opal White and Matt Green, the first four of which are updated with new body graphics. The FZ-FI continues to sell in Barrel Red and Bomber Black colours, both of which are devoid of any graphics updates for now.
The Fazer-FI, a semi-faired version of the FZ-FI, is also equipped with AHO feature now. The motorcycle is offered in Midnight Black, Burning Red and Marble White, all of which get new sticker jobs. Both the motorcycles are powered by a 149cc fuel-injected engine which develops 13.2PS @ 8000rpm and a peak torque of 12.8Nm @ 6000rpm, and share the same cycle parts too. Both the bikes get a diamond-type frame, disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear, 100/80-R17 tyre at the front and 140/60-R17 tyre at the rear. Seat height at 790mm is good for average height riders, ground clearance is 160mm, and fuel tank is 12 litres. Suspension duties are handled by beefy 43mm telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear. Both the FZs weigh 132kg while the Fazer with that extra fairing weighs 137kg.
The FZ-FI, FZS-FI and Fazer-FI are priced at Rs 81,611, Rs 83,674 and Rs 88,820 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The Matt Green colour on the FZS is available at a Rs 1,000 premium over the other FZS models at Rs 84,674.
