[Update: 2019 BS6-compliant Honda Activa 125 Launched In India]

  • Thanks to stringent emission norms, the 2019 Activa 125 makes slightly less power than before.
  • Its feature list includes a glove box in the front apron, an external fuel cap, a new semi-digital instrument console and more!
  • The 2019 model is likely to command a premium of around Rs 5,000 over the outgoing Activa 125.

India’s first BS6-compliant scooter is all set to be launched on September 11. The 2019 Honda Activa 125 comes with a fuel-injected engine and a host of extra features over the current-gen model. The revisions could lead to a price hike of around Rs 5,000 over the outgoing Activa 125 (Rs 60,347, ex-showroom Delhi).

The front fascia of the scooter receives minor design tweaks which makes it look sharper than before while the addition of premium chrome accents on the side panels and front apron add to its premium flair. Its feature list includes a new semi-digital instrument console with side-stand indicator, an apron mounted glove box and an external fuel filler cap for easy access.

Powering the 2019 Activa is a BS6-compliant 124cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine. It makes 8.29PS of power at 6500rpm, which makes it 0.34PS less powerful than the current-gen model. The motor also gets  Honda's Idling Stop System which switches off the engine in traffic and turns it back on at the twist of the throttle. Furthermore, the inclusion of an ACG starter motor ensures a quiet startup.

The upcoming Activa 125 is also larger in dimensions compared to the current model - it’s 36mm longer, 3mm wider and 19mm taller. The scooter will be offered in three variants: front disc with alloy wheels, drum brakes with alloy wheels, and drum brakes with steel wheels.

Honda revealed that all its BS6 two-wheelers will be equipped with fuel injection from here on. However, a couple of its models are likely to face the axe too.
