Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch the facelifted GLC Coupe on March 3. The 2020 GLC Coupe will most probably come with similar styling and feature updates as the facelifted GLC that was launched recently.
This is the first time Mercedes will offer the GLC coupe with standard petrol and diesel engines.
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe is expected to come in two standard variants: GLC300 (petrol) and GLC300D. The petrol variant will most likely come with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine developing 258PS and 370Nmm. The diesel model, on the other hand, should utilise the standard model’s 2.0-litre diesel engine developing 245PS and 500Nm. Both models will be offered with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Merc’s 4MATIC all-wheel drive system is also expected to be offered as standard.
We also expect the facelifted GLC to retain the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 AMG heart. Churning out 367PS of power and 520Nm of twist, this powertrain is capable of hauling the GLC from 0-100kmph in just 4.9 seconds. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Styling updates in the 2020 GLC include updated LED headlamps, tail lamps, revised alloy wheels, bumpers and a new grille design. Inside, the facelifted GLC coupe will come with Mercedes’ latest MBUX infotainment system. We got to test it in the updated GLC and came away pretty impressed.
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC is expected to be priced above its standard sibling, which retails from Rs 52.75 lakh (ex-showroom). While the standard diesel model has a niche positioning, the petrol and AMG variants will be facing competition from the Porsche Macan.
