There has been quite a buzz surrounding the upcoming Royal Enfield Classic 350, with recent spy shots showcasing a new information console and brand new switchgear. The switchgear seems to be a derivation of the one on the Concept KX motorcycle that was shown at the 2018 EICMA. These round switches remind you of old-school motorcycles, with the starter being of the recoil type.

Even on the left side, the dial type switch can toggle between low and high beam, with the recoil portion used for the pass beam. There is a button visible where the traditional pass switch is supposed to be, which we do not know for sure what the application could be. We figure it could be a toggle switch for the digital portion of the dash.

The console is pretty simple: an analogue speedometer with a small digital panel below. Like we have seen on the 650 twins, the digital part could just have an odometer and two tripmeters along with a fuel gauge. If it does show more data such as distance-to-empty and a gear position indicator, so it would be a welcome addition.

We are hoping to see the new Classic 350 make a splash in the market well before the April 2020 deadline for BS6 emission norms kicks in. Just like it did with the Himalayan in 2016, we  expect to see the new Classic 350 days before the 2020 Auto Expo. A small bump up in price is expected, pushing the asking price to Rs 1.8 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
