If you’ve had your eyes set on the facelifted Jeep Compass, you’ll be excited to know the carmaker will reveal prices on January 27. We’ve also got our hands on the upcoming model’s colour palette. Dealer sources suggest the 2021 Compass will come in four variants: Sport, Longitude Option, Limited Option and S (new range-topping variant).
Jeep will offer the facelifted Compass in six shades: Techno Metallic Green, Galaxy Blue, Exotica Red, Minimal Grey, Bright White, and Magnesio Grey. The first two are new additions and the last four are being carried forward from the existing model. It continues to utilise the existing model’s 1.4-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engines.

Exterior updates are minor, but it gives the Compass a breath of fresh air. The redesigned headlamps and the butch bumpers lend the front-end a beefier stance. The seven-slat grille is finished in black for a sportier look. Changes to the side are limited to new 18-inch alloy wheels while the rear-end remains identical to the pre-facelifted model.
While exterior updates are minimal, the interior is brand new. The dashboard with its various layers as well as gloss-black and aluminium trims looks premium while the sleek AC vents and new 3-spoke steering wheel uplift the ambience. The piece de resistance, though, is the new 10.1-inch infotainment system with connected car tech, over-the-air updates, and Jeep’s new UConnect 5 software. It also gets a new 10.25-inch digital instrumentation with 24 customisable layouts!
New features include a powered tailgate, a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, and powered front seats with ventilation. Features such as cruise control, climate control, panoramic sunroof, and auto headlamps and wipers have been retained. Safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, and electronic stability control.
Considering the expansive list of updates, we expect the facelifted Compass to command a premium over the pre-facelifted model priced from Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom). If you’ve been planning on getting the existing model, now is the time to take the plunge as Jeep is offering benefits of up to Rs 1.50 lakh. The facelifted Compass will renew its rivalry with the Hyundai Tucson, Skoda Karoq, Tata Harrier, and VW T-ROC.
