Kawasaki has laid bare the 2021 Ninja 650 in the American market. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has updated its middle-weight sports tourer with a new paint scheme while everything else remains untouched.
Wearing the Pearl Robotic White with Metallic Carbon Gray, the bike is now covered in a contrasting shade of White and Black with Kawasaki’s signature Green paint for the accents and side vents.
It retains the 649cc parallel-twin powerhouse with the output rated at 68PS and 65Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and gets a slip-and-assist clutch.
The ZX-6R-like sharp fascia (updated last year) stays unchanged. Meanwhile, the LED headlights with DRLs and TFT cluster with Bluetooth-enabled smartphone connectivity are now standard features.
The updated Kawasaki Ninja 650 continues to employ a steel trellis frame supported by a 41mm telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable horizontal back-link monoshock. Braking duties are done by a pair of 300mm petal discs held by 2-piston calipers up front and a 220mm disc at the rear.
Rolling on 17-inch alloys, the bike gets Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tires.
In the US, Kawasaki offers the Ninja 650 in two variants: ABS and Non-ABS. The ABS variant with the latest colour scheme is priced at USD 8,299 (approximately Rs 6.06 lakh). Currently, Kawasaki India offers the Ninja 650 in Lime Green paint with a price tag of Rs 6.54 lakh. However, it will be nice to see a lick of the new colour on the bike.
