Royal Enfield is all set to launch the much-awaited 2021 Classic 350 on September 1, 2021. Now, though that’s still a week away, the numerous sightings of the test mules mean we already know quite a lot about it. So here’s a compilation of all that’s new in the 2021 Classic 350:
Updated Styling
The new Classic 350 will get some styling updates for 2021. The images have revealed that it’ll get a new headlamp nacelle, new ‘Classic 350’ badging, new alloy wheels, and updated colour options too. Along with this, the Classic 350 will bid adieu to its retro spring seat, which might be a bummer for a few purists. That aside, the Classic 350 will retain its highly praised old-school silhouette, evident from elements like its spoke wheels, round headlamp and similar-looking tail section.
More Features
‘Features’ have never been synonymous with the Classic 350 but Royal Enfield is set to make amends with its 2021 model. The new bike will bid adieu to its dated analogue instrument cluster, switching to a new semi-digital unit, expected to integrate a real-time mileage indicator, trip meters, and most importantly, a fuel gauge. Additionally, some spy shots of the Classic 350 also showed RE’s Tripper navigation pod tucked beside the new instrument cluster. But we feel this could come as an optional extra rather than standard equipment. Complementing all this will be the new Meteor 350-derived switchgear.
There’s no sign of any LED illumination, though, which is a big miss compared to its competition.
Revised Ergonomics
The Classic 350’s ergonomics have always been acceptable but Royal Enfield is taking it up a notch. For 2021, the Classic 350 will get new rider and pillion seats with thicker padding, judging from the images. One can also visually notice that the seat has more contoured edges, probably aimed at better comfort. Expect the riding triangle and seat height to remain untethered, though.
A New Heart
But the talking point for the 2021 Classic 350 is its new 349cc heart, drawn from the Meteor 350. While there won’t be a huge difference in terms of power, the new motor is expected to make the Classic 350 peppier and more enjoyable than ever. And this would make touring stints a breeze too, something Classic 350 owners look forward to.
Taking all this into consideration, the 2021 Classic 350 could command a premium of Rs 5,000 - Rs 7,000 depending on the variant. We feel Royal Enfield will try to keep the base price as is, since the Classic received a massive price hike just last month while bumping up prices of the more premium variants.
