Suzuki has launched the 2021 Suzuki GSX-S750 for the US market at USD 8,899 (approximately Rs 6.55 lakh), which is the same as the 2020 iteration with ABS. The non-ABS variant costs an equivalent of Rs 6.25 lakh. For 2021, Suzuki has draped the streetfighter in new colours. The non-ABS variant gets black and grey dual-tone colour scheme with blue highlights and alloy wheels. Whereas the ABS version gets a less subtler white and black colour scheme with flashy yellow highlights.
Both variants now get a gold-finished inverted fork, which nicely rounds off the premium appeal of the motorcycle. Unfortunately, the new version is still only Euro 4-compliant for now. We expect Suzuki to bring out an updated Euro 5/ BS6-compliant version next year. The bike continues to be powered by a 749cc inline-four-cylinder engine that churns out 114PS and 81Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission and is reined by a three-level traction control system that can be turned off.
Underpinnings have remained unchanged too. This includes the inverted front fork, rear linked monoshock, twing discs up front and a single rear disc, both with Nissin calipers and an optional ABS. At 820mm, the seat is a little on the higher side, and the bike is also slightly heavy, at 213kg kerb.
Suzuki India has already launched the BS6-compliant V-Strom 650XT, so we reckon the next BS6 launch will likely be the GSX-S750. Like the middleweight adventure tourer, the GSX-S750 is also likely to command a premium of around Rs 1.2 lakh-1.3 lakh over the BS4-compliant version. Expect Suzuki to launch the updated version in India in mid-2021. The Kawasaki Z900 and the Triumph Street Triple S are the closest alternatives of this motorcycle.
