Apart from the new colour option, the model remains unchanged

Last month, Yamaha launched the R15 V3 with a new paint scheme for the Indian market. Now, it has launched the 2021 YZF R15 V3 with a new colour scheme for Indonesia as well. The bike gets a matte silver paint job with bright neon alloys.

Apart from the new colour, the Indonesian model remains unchanged. It’s powered by a 155cc single-cylinder motor that makes a claimed 19.3PS of power and 14.7Nm of torque. For reference, the India-bound Yamaha YZF R15 makes 18.6PS and 14.1 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper-and-assist clutch.

Yamaha has equipped the Indonesia-spec YZF R15 with a gold-finished USD fork and a linked monoshock, however, the Indian model still makes do with a conventional fork setup. The braking hardware too remains unchanged: a 282mm front and a 220mm rear disc setup.

The new matte silver paint scheme sits between the pre-existing metallic blue and matte black colour options sold in Indonesia. For India though, Yamaha has been generous to offer four colours: Metallic Red, Racing Blue, Thunder Grey and Dark Knight. Call it wishful thinking, but it would be amazing if Yamaha India adds the inverted fork to the India-spec model as well, obviously with an added premium.
