The third-gen Amaze has additional features across its exterior, interior and on the safety front compared to the existing Aura.

Just after the launch of the new Maruti Dzire, Honda has now posed a new challenge in the sub-4m sedan segment with the third-generation Amaze. The Hyundai Aura sedan also might need another update, to stand strong against this heavily revised competition now. We’ve previously compared both these rival sedans, and in this report, we’ll see what features the new Amaze brings over the existing Aura in the market.

LED Projector Headlights

The Honda Amaze, adding to its new revamped design, gets new lighting elements that include LED projector headlights. The Aura in comparison gets Halogen projector headlights hence missing on the LED bit.

Projector LED Foglamps

The new Amaze also gets projector LED foglamps in its fully loaded variant whereas the Aura even in its top-spec doesn’t offer any fog lighting.

Paddle Shifters

The Honda Amaze is equipped with a CVT transmission right from its starting variant and only for this transmission choice, the car is equipped with paddle shifters which provide manual control over gear shifts for an engaging driving experience. This is particularly useful for drivers who enjoy the feel of manual shifts while maintaining the convenience of an automatic transmission. The Aura, even in its automatic variants, does not offer this feature.

Remote Engine Start

The Honda Amaze includes remote engine start exclusive to its CVT transmission variants, allowing users to turn on the engine and even the AC system remotely, providing a pre-cooled cabin before entering. In contrast, the Hyundai Aura lacks this convenience feature.

Key Fob Operated Trunk Opening

The Amaze offers a key fob-operated trunk opening, making it easier to access the boot without manually unlocking it. The Aura requires the user to rely on the manual release mechanism, missing out on this added convenience. This feature is particularly useful for hands-free boot access during shopping or travel.

Semi-digital Driver's Display

The new Amaze gets a 7-inch semi digital driver’s display while the Aura’s instrument cluster makes use of analogue dials with a small MID. The Amaze’s equipment ensures better readability of information such as speed, fuel consumption and other essential details while driving.

6 Speaker Sound System

The Amaze gets a 6-speaker sound system, providing a more immersive audio experience compared to the Aura, which offers a 4-speaker setup. This will make a noticeable difference in sound quality, especially for music enthusiasts.

Connected Car Tech

The Honda Amaze comes with connected car technology with 37 functions, allowing users to control and monitor their vehicle via a smartphone app. The Aura, on the other hand, does not offer any such feature. This enhances vehicle security and convenience with remote operations and tracking.

Lane Watch Camera

A standout feature in the Amaze is the lane watch camera, which projects a live feed of the left side of the car on the infotainment screen, improving visibility while turning or changing lanes. The Aura does not include this feature, limiting its safety offerings in this regard.

ADAS

The Amaze puts the final nail with its segment-first ADAS (camera based only) features, including collision mitigation braking and adaptive cruise control. The Aura lacks any form of advanced driver assistance, hence impacting its appeal to safety-conscious buyers.

Prices for the new Honda Amaze range from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10.9 lakh (ex-showroom) while the Hyundai Aura costs between Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 9.05 lakh (ex-showroom). Let us know in the comments, what are your thoughts on these additional features?
