Why buy an iPhone when you can buy a bike!

Apple has just launched their flagship smartphone, the iPhone 16 Pro Max and its 1TB variant costs a whopping Rs 1,84,900. But what if you have the budget for the latest iPhone 16 Pro Max and want to get a motorcycle instead? Here are 5 used bikes you can get at the same price!

  1. TVS RR310

The TVS RR310, made from the collaboration between TVS and BMW Motorrad, will cost you around Rs 1.80 Lakh in the second hand market for 2020-2021 models. You can get it even cheaper if you look at older ones, but the 2020 onwards RR310s have become much smoother, and those are the ones we’d recommend. The RR310 gets a 312cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled reverse incline engine which makes 34PS @9700rpm and 27Nm @7700rpm, gets 4 riding modes which are Track, Sport, Urban and Rain. It’s a great beginner sports bike for someone looking at track riding and sports touring as well.

  1. Royal Enfield Himalayan 411

If you are someone who wants to go off-roading and likes to tour, a 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 will set you back for around Rs 1.80 lakh for a good condition bike. The Himalayan 411 gets a 411cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which makes 24.31PS @6500rpm and 34Nm @4000-4500rpm. The bike gets 21-17 inch wheels which helps the bike tackle rough conditions easily. However, don’t be tempted by much older models of the Himalayan 411 even if they’re much cheaper, as the first lot bikes had a lot of quality issues.

  1. KTM Duke 390 (2nd Generation)

Known as the “Pocket Rocket”, the 2nd generation of the Duke390 is available for around Rs 1.90 lakh mark for the 2020 model and the prices will go lower for the older models. It got major updates in 2017 over the first generation such as a colour TFT display with riding modes, slipper clutch with adjustable clutch and brake levers, LED headlights, tail lights and indicators. The 2nd generation Duke 390 gets a 373cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which makes 43PS @9300rpm and 37Nm @7100rpm. Honestly, it’s next to impossible to get more performance at a lower price than this.

  1. Dominar 400

If you wish to tour, look no further than the Dominar 400. You can get a 2021 model for just Rs 1.90 lakh and the prices will reduce drastically for the older models. The Dominar shares the engine with the 2nd generation Duke 390 but in a different state of tune. The same 373cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine makes 40PS @8800rpm and 35Nm @6500rpm. Features include a slipper clutch and a split reverse LCD display. However, the Dominar 400 is a heavy bike. If you want something that’s quicker and much lighter, then the KTM 390 Duke will be a better bet.

  1. Jawa Bobber 42

If you are a solo rider, the Yezdi Bobber 42 is an option you should definitely consider. A 2021 model is easily available for the Rs 2.0 lakh mark and the prices reduce as you go for the older models. The Bobber 42 gets a 334cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which makes 29.92PS and 30Nm. That said, be aware that older Jawas had some quality issues. Recently though, Jawa has worked hard to address these quality and service issues.
