The Tata Altroz Racer, the sportier iteration of the Altroz, will be competing directly with the Hyundai i20 N Line, the sportier version of the i20. To make the hatchback more appealing, Tata will bring in more features with the Altroz Racer, and also give it the more powerful engine of the Nexon.
While the reveal of the production-spec Altroz Racer is yet to happen, here’s everything it could get over the regular hatchback based on its pre-production form as showcased at Auto Expo 2023 and the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024:
The Tata Altroz Racer will get a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system borrowed from the Nexon, with integrated wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The standard Altroz gets a 7-inch infotainment system even in the top variant.
The Altroz Racer will come equipped with a 7-inch digital drivers display which comes with all the vital information you could need. The standard Altroz gets a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster with an analogue speedometer.

Another feature becoming quite popular after sunroofs is the 360-degree camera. The sportier Altroz will get a 360-degree camera, which will make parking and maneuvering through traffic a much easier task. In the standard Altroz, you only have the reverse parking camera to rely on. However, it won’t be a segment-first as the Maruti Baleno already offers this feature.
The Racer version of the Altroz will feature a heads-up display, which will add to the premium and sporty quotient of the Altroz Racer. It offers the most vital information to the driver without them having to take their eyes off the road in front.
Six airbags will probably make their way to all Tata cars soon enough, but for the Altroz, it will be offered with the Racer version first. The current version of the Altroz only gets dual airbags for the front passengers. This addition will surely further improve the safety of the Altroz, which is already a safe car, having secured a 5 star-rating in the global NCAP crash test.
Another feature which will make the premium hatchback feel more upmarket is ventilated front seats, which is usually offered in higher segments. The Altroz Racer will be the only one in this segment to be equipped with this convenience.
What are your thoughts about the added features? Is there anything else that you would like to see on the Altroz?
