Royal Enfield is all set to launch its 650cc twin-cylinder motorcycles, the Interceptor and the Continental GT 650, in India. They are expected to be the most affordable 650cc bikes available in India, with an expected price tag of Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom). If you are in the market for one, both the bikes are available in six colours each (click here for the best colour option for the Interceptor and here for the best colour option for Continental GT 650).
On top, you can further personalize your bike with the following list of accessories. What’s more? They all come with a two-year warranty.
Flyscreen:
You have two options available: You can opt for either a shorter flyscreen or a taller one. Both get tinted polycarbonate visors with a chrome-plated metal base with the name Royal Enfield embossed in. They can be fitted on either the Interceptor or the Continental GT.
Foam handlebar brace cover:
This one is for the Interceptor. The foam handlebar brace cover is more of a cosmetic add-on than a functional one. It does a good job, though, of covering the spindly looking handlebar brace.
Fork gaiters:
These ones protect the forks stanchions from dirt and debris while also giving the bike an old-school look. They can be fitted on both the Interceptor and Continental GT 650.
Black bar end weights and heel guards:
While both bikes come with stock silver anodised bar ends, fuel injector covers and heel guards, you can opt for black anodised units that look more understated.
Aluminium mirrors:
You get two options. One is called a ‘touring mirror’ with an anodised black finish while the other one is a bar end mirror with a round casing. Both mirrors can be fitted on either bikes.
Paddock stand bobbin:
This one is for the Continental GT 650 as it misses out on a main stand. The bobbins are mounted the rear swingarm and should work with most paddock stands. The Interceptor meanwhile gets a main stand.
Aluminium sump guard:
This one is more of a functional accessory. It should come in handy for our roads filled with badly designed speedbreakers and should protect the engine sump from loose rocks lying on the road as well.
Engine crash guard:
There are two options on offer. One is a conventional looking guard while the other is a more compact metal one that sits between the engine exhaust and front part of the crankcase. Both can be had in either matte black or stainless steel finish.
Touring seat:
The Interceptor gets an optional touring seat that gets a firmer foam padding with a unique French cross stitched cover. Interestingly, the Continental GT 650’s ‘touring seat’ is a single seater unit with a integrated cowl at the back. The seat profile is scalloped for comfort. RE are also working on a twin seat version of the ‘touring seat for the Continental GT 650.
Soft panniers:
These soft canvas panniers also double up as sling bags and sit on a mounting frame that is separately sold. They can be bought as a pair or just one unit.
