Kia has taken the wraps off the next-gen Sportage, featuring a funky design and an upmarket interior. It’s equivalent to the 2022 Hyundai Tucson that was unveiled back in September 2020.
Following Kia’s Opposite United design language, plenty of sharp curves and creases make up the Sportage’s design. Kia’s latest iteration of the Tiger Nose grille looks bold and dominates the front end, flanked by a pair of funky headlamps with C-shaped LED DRLs. It looks bold and is surely bound to turn heads.
In profile, the Sportage’s softer lines and creases makes it look more European when compared to the Tucson. Also, the round wheel arches are nicely filled by the large dual-tone alloy wheels. Moving on to the rear, C-shaped elements can be found in the funky LED tail lamps. Topping the design is the ruggedly styled rear bumper with a silver skid plate.
On the inside, the Sportage features a curved twin-display setup that is similar to a Mercedes. Other highlights include the three-dimensional AC vents and a three-spoke steering wheel with what seems like brushed aluminum highlights. Plenty of gloss black elements in the central console gives the cabin a plush feel, but they are prone to be scratched easily.

Kia is yet to give a rundown about its technical specs and features, but it should be quite similar to the Tucson, its sister model. Head here to know more about the Tucson.
For the first time ever, there will be a Sportage unique to the European market that will be unveiled in September. It remains to be seen if the new Sportage will make it to India, but if it does, it will be an alternative to the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircross and the facelifted VW Tiguan.
