MG Motor India has officially unveiled the M9, its all-electric MPV, ahead of its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Positioned under the exclusive MG Select portfolio, dedicated to the English carmaker’s premium offerings, the M9 is the second addition to this lineup following the Cyberster. Already on sale internationally as the MIFA 9, the MPV has been rebranded as the M9 for the Indian market. Let’s dive into what this luxury biggie has to offer!
The MG M9 looks big and bold, just as an MPV powerhouse should be. While its dimensions are not revealed, its international anatomy measures something this big:
Dimensions |
|
Length |
5720 mm |
Width |
2000 mm |
Height |
1840 mm |
Wheelbase |
3200 mm |
The front looks upright and commanding, with a blanked-off grille featuring trapezoidal vents below for air intake. The vertically stacked LED headlights are topped by straight, eyebrow-like LED DRLs.
The profile appears posh with a minimalist and neat body line and sliding rear doors, highlighted by chrome garnishes below the windows that run in a Z-shape to the rear fixed glass, along with sleek chrome cladding along the bottom. You get body-coloured ORVMs and it rides on big dual-tone alloy wheels with clean wheel arches without cladding.

At the rear, the LED taillights are sleek and mean which wrap around to the profile, giving a sharp and modern aesthetic. The rear design is flat and clean, featuring connected lighting and similar chrome garnishing as seen on the sides, positioned below.
Step inside and the M9 greets you with luxury. The India-spec does differently than the global model with a beige and tan cabin theme with tan upholstery that adds to its premium feel. While the dashboard layout of the Indian model hasn’t been shown in the brand film, it will likely resemble the clean design of the global variant with a floating touchscreen infotainment display, two-spoke steering with mounted controls and a long-running AC vent running across the length of the dash. The centre bridge comes with ample storage and cup holders.
The second row is where the show begins with captain ottoman seats with touchscreen controls on the handrails and dedicated AC vents for both seats. You have the ambient lights running around at the top outlining the dual sunroofs as well as the door panels. It is also equipped with sunshades and provides ample legroom for maximum passenger comfort.
As for features, this India-spec premium MPV is confirmed to have reclining ottoman seats with 8 massage modes,three-zone climate controls and a dual panoramic sunroof. It will also carry features from the global model like a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated seats, a wireless phone charger, an air purifier, a 12-speaker sound system, all window one-touch up/down, 64-colour ambient lighting, sunshades and rain-sensing wipers.
We expect the M9 to be equipped with 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a 360-degree camera and level-2 ADAS in its safety suite, based on the global model.
The powertrain details for the India-spec MG M9 remain undisclosed. However, the international spec is equipped with a 90 kWh battery pack powering a single electric motor that delivers 245 PS and 350 Nm of torque to the front wheels. It has a WLTP-combined range of 430 km and accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 9.9 seconds.
The MG M9 will be on display at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. It is expected to be priced around Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom). It won’t have as many segment rivals in India other than the Kia Carnival.
