Update: Aprilia India Launches Storm 125, Its Most Affordable Scooter Yet
The wait is over, well almost. After showcasing it at the 2018 Auto Expo, Aprilia will be launching the Storm 125 in India on 30 May 2019. As per our sources, the scooter will be priced at Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it the most affordable Aprilia you can buy right now. For reference, the Aprilia SR 125 costs Rs 7,928 more!

So what do you miss out on? Well, the Storm 125 gets 12-inch wheels instead of the 14-inch units seen on the SR 125. The wheels come shod with dual-purpose tyres (front - 120/80, rear - 130/80). It also misses out on the SR 125’s front disc brake. Apart from these changes, the scooter is mechanically identical to the SR 125.

The Storm 125 is powered by the same 124.49cc engine as the SR 125. This motor puts out 9.6PS of power and 9.9Nm of torque. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Unlike the SR 125, the Storm 125 gets bright-coloured body panels. Additionally, the pillion grab rail is a large, single-piece unit as opposed to the sleek, split units seen on the SR 125.
