Bringing in a new era of engine technology, Ashok Leyland launched the all-new Neptune engine. The new mill has been designed and developed completely in-house from the scratch by the boffins at Ashok Leyland. The main criteria’s for the Neptune engine was to provide better fuel efficiency, lower maintenance, prolonged life and enhanced reliability. Apart from the above mentioned points, special attention was given to improve NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) characteristics.

The Neptune engine will be offered in two versions, BS-III and BS-IV but with an eye on the future, engineers have packaged the engine such that it would be BS-V and BS-VI ready when needed. The Neptune would also be offered in the power range of 162PS to 385PS to satisfy the varying demands of the consumers and will be employed in range of trucks and buses in a synchronised manner.
