The AMB 001 is undergoing testing in its home environment
  • Aston Martin has collaborated with Brough Superior to build this bike.
  • The AMB 001 was first unveiled at EICMA last year.
  • With 182PS on tap and 180kg to propel, it has a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio.

One of the highlights of EICMA last year was carmaker Aston Martin unveiling its first ever motorcycle project, courtesy of a collaboration with equally iconic British brand Brough Superior. The end result was the strikingly beautiful AMB 001, a track-only slick-shod weapon powered by a monstrous turbocharged V-twin motor pumping out 182PS.

Now, the bike is being tested in its home environment, on the racetrack, and the resultant media is pretty astonishing. A slight change from the serene silver it was seen in at EICMA, this particular AMB sports Aston Martin’s very distinctive fluorescent camouflage, and looks pretty menacing as it rips its way around the circuit.

Barely half a minute long, the video’s most noteworthy bits show the AMB’s unconventional suspension setup in action. The bike employs a rare arrangement of two control arms and a shock absorber at the front, not unlike the Duolever system seen on certain BMWs.

Unfortunately, we don’t yet know what that great big V-twin motor will sound like, but if you’d like to find out first-hand, why not become one of the 100 lucky customers? Only €108,000 (around Rs 85 lakh), which will make this the most affordable Aston Martin vehicle on sale, if the production timeline of Autumn 2020 is met.
