Limited to just 18 units, each model will be personalised to the needs of the customer by Q by Aston Martin

  • Customers will be invited to a 274km road trip and a three-night visit to the Bowmore distillery in Islay.

  • Each Bowmore Edition model gets a colour option specific to this edition and unique detailing by Q by Aston Martin.

  • It will be powered by the same engine as the standard DBX, a 550PS 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8.

Aston Martin has launched an exclusive version of the DBX, dubbed the Bowmore Edition, limited to just 18 units. Bowmore is one of the oldest Scottish whisky brands, claimed to have been established in 1779 in Islay. Each of the 18 models will be different from one another thanks to Q by Aston Martin and its personalisation options.

We know each of the 18 models will be unique in their own way, but what do they all have in common? For starters, it gets a specific paint job, called Bowmore Blue, along with a metallic grey option with flecks of blue. The copper inlays on the side are borrowed from the same copper used in the original whisky. In addition to the blacked-out wheels, it comes with the option of black brake calipers. To enforce the exclusivity, the car is lined with Q by Aston Martin badges and script.

Inside, customers get a choice between Obsidian and Obsidian-Copper dual-tone colour schemes. The copper and blue accents are a nod to the island home of Bowmore and its terroirs and lochs. The interior also gets some exclusives from Q by Aston Martin, which include polished copper cup holders, sill plaques made from recycled Bowmore copper, and copper-foil detailing on the black centre console trim inlay.

Under the hood, the Bowmore Edition will get the same engine as the standard DBX: a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, which puts out 550PS of grunt and 700Nm of twist. It comes with a top speed of 291kmph and a 0-100kmph acceleration time of just 4.5 seconds.

This is not just a car, it’s an experience. All 18 buyers will get a trip down memory lane with a chance to get familiar with the history and traditions of Bowmore Islay. They will be invited to Edinburgh, where they will receive their exclusive Bowmore Editions. A 274km road trip in the newly acquired Astons will lead to boarding a ferry for Islay.

As part of a three-night stay, which involves fine dining, visiting the Bowmore distillery, and sipping some vintage whisky, each of the guests will get the royal treatment. Like the Royal Family, they will be given access to the world’s oldest maturation warehouse, the No. 1 Vaults. Besides, they will be given the chance to hand-fill a bottle with a 39-year-old, specially selected single malt straight out of the cask!

This is the second offering from the collaboration between Aston Martin and Bowmore, after the Black Bowmore DB5 1964. The Bowmore Edition is now on sale globally with deliveries set to begin from Q4 2021. You might want to make a decision at the earliest as this edition will be limited to 18 lucky hands.
