Aston Martin has unveiled the special edition of its ‘Super GT’, the Vanquish S. Christened Ultimate, it marks the end of Vanquish as it enters the final phase of its production life.
Last of the dying breed, the Ultimate edition is powered by the same 6.0-litre V12 engine, producing 595PS of power, which is sent to the rear wheels by an 8-speed Touchtronic III automatic transmission. It also gets a 3-stage adaptive damping system and carbon ceramic brakes.
You must be wondering what’s different. Well, Aston Martin has planned to give it an Ultimate farewell. On the exteriors, for instance, it gets carbon fibre side strakes featuring rose gold ‘Ultimate’ decals, carbon fibre treadplate and an ‘Ultimate’ sill plaque. Inside the car, the seats get stitched quilting design and an ‘Ultimate’ headrest embroidery.
To make the car even more distinctive, designers at Gaydon, Warwickshire have come up with three different design themes for the Ultimate edition.
The first theme gets a monochromatic design. It gets the Ultimate Black paintwork which was first seen and created for the first-generation Vanquish S Ultimate edition. Other than this, it gets Copper Bronze graphics around the front air intake, side sills and rear diffuser. Additional monochrome detailing includes black exhaust tailpipes, brake callipers, window trims and 5-spoke wheel along with carbon fibre bonnet louvres, side strakes and front grill. On the inside, it gets Obsidian Black leather with Chestnut Tan accents and stitching with carbon fibre twill facia.
The second design theme is more vivid. On the outside, it gets Xenon Grey paint with Cobalt Blue graphics, along with yellow brake callipers and black 5-spoke alloy wheels. The interiors get the same treatment with Electron Yellow inserts and Spectral Blue stitching over the Phantom Grey leather upholstery.
The third and the last theme consists of white gold paintwork with Bronze graphics and black carbon fibre detailing on the outside. Interiors get Chestnut Tan leather with Obsidian Black accents.
Now, if you like the interior theme of one and exterior of the other, no problem. Aston Martin lets you combine any exterior scheme and interior package as a no-cost option.
Aston Martin has priced the Vanquish S Ultimate Coupe at £211,995 (about Rs 1.8 crore), while the Volante version is on sale for £293,995 (about Rs 2.4 crore). The manufacturer has already started accepting orders for the same and the deliveries are scheduled for Q1 2018. The manufacturer has not said anything about this car coming to India.
