Ather Energy has launched its electric scooters in Chennai, making it the second city after Bengaluru where the scooters have gone on sale. While the lower-spec Ather 340 has been priced at Rs 1.19 lakh, the top-end variant, the 450 costs Rs 1.31 lakh (both prices on-road Chennai). Interestingly, these electric scooters are around Rs 8,000 to Rs 9,000 more expensive in Chennai as compared to Bengaluru. Official bookings will commence from July 24 and the first batch of scooters will be delivered to customers in September.
