Ather 450 Gets Dark Mode

Ather Energy has been leading the charge for electric mobility for a while now. Its 450 electric scooter is one of the best that we have ridden so far and the upcoming 450X model just builds on the goodness. One of the great things about the Ather 450 is that Ather regularly considers customer feedback and sends out OTA updates to improve the ownership experience. The company is now sending out its seventh OTA update for the 450, the highlight of which is the dark mode.

Just like the dark mode on your smartphone apps like Instagram and WhatsApp, the dash goes dark and doesn’t cause your eyes to strain while riding at night. The screen will turn dark at 6pm and the mode will get deactivated at 6am. You can also choose to have it in Light or Dark mode for the entire day.

Plus, with this update, the 450 will remember the mode in which you ended your previous ride and continue in the same manner. Earlier, it would reset itself to ‘Ride’ mode, forcing you to switch it back to Eco or Sport when you start riding. This isn’t that big of a deal but it does simplify your commute a little. Another small update is in the keyboard experience which is now a more seamless affair.

The Ather 450 is nearing its end and will soon be replaced with the 450 Plus and the 450X. We had a chance to ride the new scooters earlier this year and here are our first impressions of the improved electric scooter.
