Bengaluru based EV startup Ather Energy has announced a unique buyback programme for the 450X. Ather says it’ll buy back the 450X from customers for Rs 85,000 at the end of 3 years IF the customer wants to part ways with the scooter. According to the brand the e-scooter has a strong resale value thanks to its reliability aspect, which has been affirmed by existing owners of the Ather 450.
Admittedly, the price of the 450X was on the higher side and Ather understands this, especially during these testing times. So, in a bid to make the scooter more accessible, Ather has introduced a new lease plan. It allows customers to get their hands on the 450X at a lower price and for a nominal monthly fee. This makes sense for those who aren't willing to buy the scooter up front.
Alternatively, customers could trade in their ICE-powered scooter for the Ather 450X and take advantage of low-interest rates. And if you think the 450X is too outlandish for you, you could opt for the lower-spec Ather 450 Plus, which now retails at a reduced price of Rs 1,39,990.
Adding to the list of changes are the new subscription plans which have been revised for more flexibility in order to match the usage of the consumer. There are four different options to choose from based on the customer's usage. The plans include Ather Connect Lite (all basic connected features), Ather Connect Pro, Ather Service Lite (periodic maintenance, RSA & labour) and Ather Service Pro (premium service experience).
Just in case you’re wondering, the base plan starts at Rs 125 per month. Ather has also extended the courtesy to make charging at public charging points and Ather Grid free until March 2021.
