The effects of demonetisation have been far and wide and the sales of premium cars have also taken a hit. In order to counter this, German carmaker Audi has reportedly introduced lucrative discounts of up to Rs 7 lakh on various products across its Indian portfolio.
The special offers and promotional incentives will cover the likes of the A3, A4 and A6 sedans and the Q3 and Q7 SUVs. The reduction in prices begins from around Rs 2 lakh on the flagship Q7 beast to Rs 7 lakh on the A4.
Talking of sedans, the smallest of the lot, the A3 will now cost Rs 30.99 lakh against the Rs 35.3 lakh price tag earlier. The A4, as mentioned earlier, will now burn a hole worth Rs 37.83 lakh in your pocket as compared to its heftier asking price earlier. As for the A6, its prices have been slashed by a substantial Rs 4 lakh to Rs 53.58 lakh.
Among the SUVs, the Audi Q3 could be yours at just Rs 33.87 lakh after a Rs 5 lakh discount, while the biggest offering from the brand with four rings, the Q7, now carries a sticker price of Rs 75.98 lakh. Moreover, the company is also extending other conditional offers like six-month EMI holidays and zero down payment.
The government has made the disclosure of PAN (Permanent Account Number) while buying cars mandatory which has, in turn, particularly dented premium car and motorcycle companies that used to see frequent hard cash transactions. It now remains to be seen whether the new discounts introduced by Audi will change any of that.
