It gets an augmented reality head-up display (much like that of the Mercedes S-Class), with a 70-inch display area

Soon after debuting the e-tron GT, Audi has revealed its next EV, well, partially. From what the German carmaker has mentioned, the interior of the Q4 e-tron SUV will be loaded with tech, giving us much to look forward to ahead of the official reveal next month. From augmented reality (AR) to plenty of boot-space, here’s everything you will find inside the upcoming Q4 e-tron SUV:

Let’s start with the biggest (both literally and figuratively) highlight: an augmented reality head-up display, with an effective display area of 70 inches! If this tech feels familiar, that’s because you’ve seen it before in the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. If not, we’ll give you an idea about how it functions. Using multiple cameras, sensors, and safety systems, the display will project markers onto the windshield, indicating distance, lanes, and directions.

The Q4 e-tron also gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with Audi’s virtual cockpit and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with voice command. The virtual cockpit comes in three different layouts (Classic, Sport, and e-tron). A chunkier 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen is also available as an option, making it the biggest infotainment display offered in an Audi model.

Knobs and buttons on the steering wheel are replaced by touch-sensitive buttons with haptic feedback. The overall interior design resembles that of Audi’s modern-day models. There is no separate display for climate controls; instead, the Q4 e-tron uses a physical panel like that in the e-tron GT.

In terms of space, Audi’s EV-specific platform seems to be working wonders for the Q4 e-tron. The carmaker claims a boot space of 520 litres in a car that’s roughly as long as the Tata Harrier (with boot space of 425 litres). With the back row folded, luggage-carrying capacity increases to 1,490 litres. Storage spaces in the cabin result in an additional volume of 24.8 litres.

With the Q4 e-tron, Audi is offering multiple packages and options for seats, colour schemes (black, brown, grey, and beige), and additional features. With the seats, you get an option for lumbar support and heated/ventilated seats, and can choose between basic or sport. There is also the provision to choose upholstery made from recycled materials like PET bottles.

The Q4 e-tron first debuted as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019 (with the same moniker) and then as a Sportback in 2020. While the covers are yet to be taken off, there’s almost an uncanny resemblance between the camouflaged model and the concept. It will follow in the footsteps of other Audi e-SUVs like the e-tron, e-tron GT, and e-tron Sportback, as part of the carmaker’s plans of electrification.

Audi India has confirmed that the e-tron and e-tron Sportback will arrive here within the next 2-3 months, which could be followed by the Q4 e-tron.
