Audi has launched the Q5 TFSI in India with a price tag of Rs 55.27 lakh, ex-showroom pan India. The Q5 petrol comes just a few months after Audi launched the Q5 diesel in India. The SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which produces 252PS of max power and 370Nm of peak torque. According to Audi, this makes the Q5 the most powerful petrol SUV in its class. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch S-Tronic transmission which sends power to all four wheels via Audi’s quattro AWD system. The Q5 can do 0-100kmph in 6.3 seconds and boasts of a top speed of 237kmph.
There is little to differentiate the petrol from the diesel in terms of exterior aesthetics and the cabin is almost identical too. The petrol is available in two variants: Premium Plus and Technology. The cabin shares the dual-tone black and beige interior trim with the diesel variant. The Q5 TFSI gets the virtual cockpit instrument cluster along with a head-up display. The car also gets a touch MMI system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with a 3-zone climate control. Other features include Navigation Plus, Audi Smartphone interface, a 10GB internal storage and an Audi Phone Box with Qi wireless charging. All high-end features, though, will be available with the Technology variant only.
The Audi Q5 TFSI will go up against its chief rivals; the BMW X3 xDrive 30i, priced at Rs 56.9 lakh; Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic, priced at Rs 52.13 lakh; and the Land Rover Discovery Sport petrol, which is priced from Rs 49.20 lakh, all prices ex-showroom pan India.
