Audi, the German car manufacturer, has launched limited edition variants of its flagship SUV and mid-sized luxury sedan in India. Available in limited numbers and with more standard equipment than the top-of-the line variants, the Q7 and A6 Design Edition use their exclusivity for increased appeal.
The prices of the limited edition variants, ex-showroom, are as follows:
Audi A6 Design Edition: Rs 56.78 lakh
Audi Q7 Design Edition: Rs 81.99 lakh
The Audi Q7 Design Edition gets 20-inch 5-spoke aluminium alloy wheels, gloss black exhausts and smoked taillamps. Inside, the additional equipment includes a smartphone compatible infotainment system, gloss black running boards and projection puddle lamps (which project the Audi logo at the front, and the quattro logo at the rear). With the additional equipment, the Design Edition costs Rs 4.15 lakh more than the top-of-the-line Q7 Technology Pack.
The Q7 Design Edition is only available with the same engine as the standard SUV - a 3.0-litre turbocharged V8 diesel motor developing 249PS of maximum power and 600Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired to an 8-speed ZF dual-clutch transmission and the quattro intelligent AWD system. The Audi Q7 45 TDI achieves 0-100kmph in 7.1 seconds and can hit a top speed of 234kmph.

The Audi A6 Design Edition also gets similar additional equipment as the Q7. On the outside, changes are limited to the 19-inch double-spoke aluminium alloy wheels. And on the inside, the A6 now gets a smartphone compatible infotainment system, individual displays for rear seat passengers and projection puddle lamps which project the Audi logo. The additional equipment adds Rs 3.87 lakh to the cost of the A6 over the top-of-the-line A6 35 TDI Matrix Edition.
