Hatchbacks:
The Tata Tiago will battle it out with the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R in the final round. We were surprised to see the Tiago emerge victorious as it had a tough competitor in the form of Maruti’s S-Presso.
In the premium hatchback space, the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Altroz and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios lodged surprise wins. These three cars emerged victorious after battling it out with some of India’s highest selling cars.
SUVs:
In the sub 4-metre SUV space, the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Hyundai Venue were adjudged the winners and will now proceed to the next round. All three SUVs come loaded with features, good looks and are extremely practical. The Nexon is also known for its impressive safety.
The Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Tata Harrier are the winners in the compact SUV space. While the Creta and Seltos must have had a cakewalk, the recent updates to the Harrier could have won your hearts, pushing it to the final round.
Any guess who are the winners in the full size SUV space? Naturally, it’s the Ford Endeavour and the Toyota Fortuner, both segment leaders. Joining them is the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
Sedans:
The winners in the sub-compact sedan space are the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze and the Hyundai Aura. No surprises here since they are the most popular and highest selling vehicles in their segment.
Moving a step up, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and the Hyundai Verna won the poll.
In the executive sedan space, the Skoda Superb and Toyota Camry Hybrid emerged victorious. Both vehicles are known for their impressive back seat experience.
MPV:
Naturally, India’s best selling MPVs are the winners here. They are the Toyota Innova Crysta, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Kia Carnival.
Green Car:
In the Green car or EV segment, three popular EVs emerged victorious. They are the Tata Nexon EV, Hyundai Kona Electric and the MG ZS EV. All three are SUVs and pack a decent range.
