India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd announced that popular rapper Badshah has composed and created the theme song to promote its recently launched scooter Cygnus Ray-ZR. The name of the new song is “RayZR Mera Swag” and it was launched in Mumbai by Badshah along with Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. The Yamaha Ray-ZR was launched in May and was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. The Ray-ZR holds the distinction of being the first Yamaha scooter to get front disc brake as an optional extra.
Commenting on the collaboration Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd said “The Cygnus Ray-ZR is a real boy’s scooter specifically targeted towards the youngsters and has been very well received since its launch. Having Badshah on board will give additional impetus to it, as he has a huge fan following and majority are youngsters. He is one of India’s finest rappers and Yamaha is very delighted to partner with him”.
The music video was created, conceptualised, produced and distributed by Sony Music Entertainment India Pvt. Ltd. The Yamaha Ray-ZR has a sporty styling and is targeted at young male riders with its edgy design language. The Yamaha Ray-ZR standard variant has been priced at Rs 52,000 while the disc brake variant carries a sticker price of Rs 54,500 (both prices ex-showroom Delhi).The Yamaha Ray-ZR is powered by the same 113cc air-cooled motor as seen on other scooters in the Yamaha India portfolio. The single-cylinder mill churns out 7.1PS at 7,500rpm while peak torque rating stands at 8.1Nm at 5,500rpm. The engine also features Yamaha’s patented “Blue Core” that improves combustion efficiency and the Japanese two-wheeler giant claims a mileage figure of 66kmpl for the new scooter.
