Expect the upcoming motorcycle to be around Rs 7,500 more expensive than before
  • The 160cc motor makes the same 15PS of power.
  • Underpinnings to remain the same.
  • Expect the fuel efficiency to go up.
  • The April 1 deadline for bike makers to convert their two-wheelers to BS6 is just a few weeks away and Bajaj is likely to launch a range of updated motorcycles in that time. The latest motorcycle to join this list is the Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6, which is likely to be launched soon. Unofficial bookings for the Avenger 160 have already begun for Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000. Now, we have now received the RTO documents which reveal the power figure of the upcoming Avenger Street 160.

It’s the same drill with the Avenger 160 Street as we have seen for the other BS6-compliant Bajaj motorcycles: Similar power figures and the same set of underpinnings as the predecessors. The updated 160cc motor makes 15PS at 8,500rpm. We expect the BS6 version to have a similar torque figure as before, at 13.5Nm. There’s no word on the fuel efficiency, but we expect a small difference between the two versions.

There’s no official word about its launch or its prices but according to our sources, the upcoming Avenger Street 160 BS6 is likely to be priced at Rs 89,536 (ex-showroom), making it Rs 7,500 more expensive than before. In terms of rivals, it goes up against the Suzuki Intruder, the only cruiser in this segment.
