Bookings for the Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6 have commenced across select dealerships in the country. The bike has also started arriving at certain dealerships. The cruiser is likely to be launched before the end of March and expect the deliveries to commence soon after. We had already revealed the price of the Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6 in our earlier report. It costs Rs 89,536 (ex-showroom Mumbai), which is a premium of Rs 7,501 over the BS4-compliant model.
The motorcycle features a closed-loop fuel-injected, air-cooled 160cc motor. Expect it to make a little less power or torque in favour of cleaner emissions. To give you a fair idea, the Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS4 makes 15PS at 8500rpm and 13.5Nm at 7000rpm. The BS6 bike will use the same 5-speed transmission as the BS4 model.
The additional catalytic converter seems to have been covered by a vented metal covering to protect it from debris. While it is functional, it looks a bit gaudy in our opinion. The rest of the motorcycle looks unchanged. We’d have liked if Bajaj had equipped the bike with a full-LED headlamp, which would’ve justified the price hike to a certain extent.
The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6 also retains the same underpinnings as its BS4 sibling. It employs a telescopic front fork, twin rear shock absorbers, 260mm front disc with single-channel ABS and a 130mm rear drum.

The only rival to the Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6 is the upcoming Suzuki Intruder 150 BS6. The Japanese brand had unveiled the cruiser at Auto Expo 2020 and is set to launch the motorcycle soon.
