Bajaj Platina Comfortec Launched At Rs 43,541

Bajaj Auto has updated its popular commuter motorcycle, the Platina, with upgrades to make the trip more comfortable for the rider. Christened as ‘Platina Comfortec,’ the commuter motorcycle is available in two variants. The kick-start and alloy wheel variant is available at Rs 43,541 while the electric-start model with alloy wheels has been priced at Rs 44,554 (both ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Under the ‘Comfortec’ tag, the Platina gets revised suspension, a more comfortable seat, and rubber footpads. With these upgrades, Bajaj claims that the Platina Comfortec will offer a more comfortable ride with 20 per cent lesser jerks as compared to other leading 100cc commuter motorcycles in the market.

The front suspension of the Bajaj Platina Comfortec is longer by 28 per cent while the rear double spring suspension is longer by 22 per cent. The seat is equipped with ‘spring soft’ material to impart better comfort, along with the rubber footpads.

Apart from the above mentioned upgrades, the Comfortec model look identical to the normal Platina. The Platina Comfortec is powered by the same 102cc air-cooled, single cylinder DTS-i engine that produced 8.2PS of max power at 7500rpm and 8.6Nm of peak torque at 5000rpm. The motor comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox. As per ARAI tests, the Bajaj Platina Comfortec is claimed to return a fuel economy of 104kmpl.

Bajaj also claims that the maintenance for the new Platina Comfortec is lesser by 65 per cent as it will have a service interval at every 5,000km and an oil changing interval after every 10,000km. The updated commuter motorcycle is available in three colour options- Red, Black and Blue.
