Bajaj has started rolling out BS6 updates for its entire lineup. Post the unofficial introduction of the BS6 Pulsar NS200, the brand has started shipping out BS6 Pulsar 150 Twin Discs to select dealerships. The bike features fuel injection, ECU, and an updated cat-con for a price of Rs 96,563, a hike of Rs 11,789 over the current BS4 model which retails at Rs 84,774 (both prices, ex-showroom Pune). Unofficial bookings have commenced for a token amount ranging between Rs 1,000 and Rs 5,000. The BS6 Pulsar 150 Twin Disc is expected to be launched by the end of February.
Sadly, apart from the engine update, Bajaj hasn’t tinkered with the bike mechanically or cosmetically. It draws power from a BS6-compliant, 149.5cc, single-cylinder engine featuring fuel-injection. While we haven’t been able to get hold of the bike’s specifications, it’s likely to take a minor hit in terms of performance. However, the addition of fuel injection should help the engine run smoother than before. The current-gen bike, for instance, produces 14PS of peak power at 8000rpm and a maximum torque of 13.4Nm at 6000rpm, mated to a 5-speed transmission.
There are no alterations to the bike’s hardware either. The Pulsar 150 Twin Disc uses the same telescopic fork and monoshock for its suspension duties. A pair of disc brakes at the front and back help anchor the bike paired with single-channel ABS.
At this price point, the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 150 Twin Disc competes against the recently updated BS6 TVS Apache RTR 160 and the Honda CB Unicorn 150.
