Which fully loaded SUV in India would you choose from this list?

The full-size SUV segment in India is quite a popular one despite most of them being capable of burning a significant hole in your wallet. This could be down to the value it offers in terms of comfort, features and performance without heading into luxury SUV territory. But which one is the ideal pick? Well you can be a part of making that choice by participating in our Auto Premier League, where you get to pick the best full-size SUV. Voting for round two begins on June 10 and these are your options::

Toyota Fortuner

We start off with the Toyota Fortuner, one of the most popular SUVs in India. Its popularity can be pinned down to the fact that it is one of the best all-rounder vehicles for its price. Notable bits include three rows of seats, premium upholstery and punchy petrol and diesel engines. The latter can be had with 4WD too. While it is ageing in comparison to its competition, it is expected to get a facelift in 2021.

Pros:

  • Petrol and diesel variants get the option of an automatic gearbox. Optional 4WD with diesel engine.

  • Nicely thought out variants with a great spread of premium features.

  • Toyota's renowned reliability and service network.

Cons:

  • Starting to age against the Endeavour and Alturas G4

  • 2.7-litre petrol engine lacks outright grunt. Best suited for a relaxing cruise.

Ford Endeavour

The next full-size SUV on the list is a direct rival to the Fortuner with similar x-factor elements. And now with the latest update, the Endeavour has become the first car in India to pack a 10-speed automatic gearbox paired to its 2.0-litre diesel engine. The three row SUV gets modern bits like a panoramic sunroof, semi-auto parallel parking and power-folding third row seats. Its 4x4 drivetrain gets Ford’s Terrain Management System for the optimum off-road experience.

Pros:

  • Powered by a more refined and efficient 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine.

  • Quieter cabin and easier city driving experience.

  • A sophisticated transmission that can skip and lock gears.

  • Still comes equipped with a full off-road kit.

  • Is one of only two models in the segment to feature connected car tech.

Cons:

  • Hasn’t had a comprehensive feature update.

  • Downsized engine lacks the punch of previous 3.2-litre diesel.

  • Only features a tilt-adjustable steering wheel.

Pros:

  • Stands out with a large and imposing stance.

  • Loaded with bits like Nappa leather upholstery, dual zone climate control and a sunroof.

Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace

One of the most recent additions in the segment, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is the 7-seater version of the Tiguan. Notable features include tri-zone climate control, a digital instrument cluster, seven airbags and a panoramic sunroof.

  • Small and compact design

  • Neat and minimalistic dash

Honda CR-V

And finally, we head to the smallest SUV in this list: the Honda CR-V. Recently, this SUV has taken a bit of a hit with the loss of the diesel-engine resulting in no third row seats or a 4WD option. It is still equipped with bits such as a TFT multi-information display,  a panoramic sunroof and a lane watch camera.

Pros:

  • Strong road presence thanks to flared wheel arches

  • Gets a premium cabin with soft-touch plastics and leather upholstery.

  • Ride quality feels plush.
