A luxury saloon with 760Nm of torque? Sounds interesting!
BMW 7 Series

German auto giant, BMW launched its flagship sedan, the 2016 7 series at the Indian Auto Expo this February. With its futuristic technology, powerful engines and a feature-laden cabin, the new 7 series has been trying hard to dethrone its segment’s benchmark, the Mercedes S Class.

BMW has now added a new powerful variant to the 7 series lineup- the 750d. It is powered by a 3.0-litre unit which has four turbochargers! Yes, four!

It churns out 400PS of power and a mammoth 760Nm of torque which makes it the most powerful six-cylinder diesel engine in the world. Transmission duties are carried out by an eight-speed automatic gearbox and power will be sent to all four wheels through BMW’s much-famed xDrive AWD setup.

All that power and torque will result in a 0-100 kmph time of 4.6 seconds while the top speed has been limited to 250kmph.

On the inside, the 750d will have the same creature comforts as the 730Ld and the 750Li which includes an iDrive 5.0 infotainment system with gesture control, panoramic sunroof with six different color settings, adaptive laser lighting, smartphone inductive charger and many more.

The BMW 750d will be launched in European markets by July this year and we can expect it to hit the Indian shores by 2017. This quad-turbo diesel engine will also power BMW’s upcoming flagship SUV, the X7.
