BYD India recently launched the eMax7 at a starting price of Rs 26.9 lakh (ex-showroom). This revised iteration of the e6 MPV has now arrived on displays at BYD showrooms across India, and test drives are underway as well. Besides notable design changes, the eMax7 is now available both in 6-seater and 7-seater configurations and an additional smaller battery pack option.
Before you head to the showroom for a firsthand look, here’s a complete rundown of all the essential details:
The BYD eMax7 is available in four colours: Cosmos Black, Crystal White, Harbour Grey, and Quartz Blue.
In terms of design, it boasts certain notable enhancements. The front now features reworked LED headlights with a minimalistic approach that continues with clean, updated bumpers and stylish new dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, connected LED taillights give the car a modern appearance and its bumpers are now body coloured.
Step inside, and the cabin greets you with a new black and brown interior theme. Subtle updates to the dashboard and centre console, coupled with a newly designed steering wheel, add to the premium feel. The most significant upgrade, however, is the introduction of a third-row seating option, offering both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations to cater to larger families and travel needs.
The BYD eMax7 is packed with amenities like a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a fixed glass roof, automatic climate control, ventilated and powered front seats, wireless phone charging, a 6-speaker sound system, and a powered tailgate for added convenience.
On the safety front, it comes equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold and ADAS.
What sets the eMax7 apart from the outgoing e6 is its upgraded powertrain. It now offers two battery pack options: a new, smaller 55.4 kWh pack and the existing 71.8 kWh pack, coupled with a more powerful motor. This setup delivers enhanced power and performance, making it a significant improvement over the outgoing model. Below is a detailed look at the eMax7's specifications:
