Despite the end of the year looming close, this past week was quite an eventful one. We witnessed the name reveal of the Mahindra S201, which has officially been christened the XUV300, as well as images and features of the sub-4 metre SUV. This week also saw the launch of the new, more rugged Xtreme Gurkha with a race winning engine. Maruti Suzuki announced that it will be launching two new cars in 2019, while Toyota has set the launch date for the new-gen Camry. Meanwhile, MG is set to showcase its first SUV for India by April. Mahindra XUV300 is the official name of the S201
Mahindra has officially christened the upcoming S201 SUV as the XUV300. It will be a sub-4 metre SUV and will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and the Tata Nexon. Mahindra claims it will be a premium offering and feature a variety of segment firsts. It will offer seven airbags and a dual-zone climate control system. It will also come with a sunroof and a touchscreen infotainment system.
Maruti Suzuki to launch two new cars in 2019
Maruti has announced it will be launching two all new cars in the coming year and they will not be updates or facelifts. The carmaker also confirmed that the cars will be launched with new BSVI engines and will be able to run on BSIV fuel till BSVI fuel becomes readily available.
First MG SUV to be showcased in April 2019

MG is all set to make its debut in India by mid-2019 with the Baojun 530-based SUV. Sources close to the company confirmed that the SUV will be unveiled around April-May 2019. MG has confirmed that the SUV will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine. However, a petrol powerplant has not been confirmed yet. In addition, the SUV will be offered as a 5-seater.
2019 Toyota Camry to launch on January 18
The all new Toyota Camry had been spied earlier by one of our eagle eyed readers. Now it has been confirmed that the 8th-gen Camry will be making its India debut in January 2019. The new Camry is underpinned by the GA-K platform that also underpins the Lexus ES 300h. This will also make the new Camry the first Toyota to be underpinned by the TNGA platform in India. The powertrain will be carried over as is, but will be re-tuned for improved driving dynamics.
