Renault India registered a phenomenal growth of 211% with monthly domestic sales of 12,426 units in April 2016 as against 4,001 units in April 2015. The boom in Renault’s sales can be credited to Kwid hatchback which has been doing really well for the French carmaker ever since its launch.
Hyundai Motors also registered a growth of 9.7% by selling 42,351 units in April 2016. Creta has been doing well for the Korean car manufacturer. However, the export figures came down by 6.5 % this April in comparison to April 2015.
Maruti Suzuki also registered a growth of 13.3% by selling 126,569 units in April 2016 in comparison to 111,748 units in April 2015. The Baleno hatchback has been doing well off- lately for the homegrown manufacturer and the introduction of Brezza in March 2016 has also added to the overall sales.
Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra posted 16% rise in sales at 22,655 vehicles. New products like KUV100 and the NuvoSport have been doing well for the company. Ford India also posted a growth of more than 32% this April. Ford recently slashed the prices of its compact SUV- EcoSport which has been doing well for the company in the Indian market.
Honda Cars registered a dip in sales figures this month by selling 10,486 units in April 2016 against 12,636 units in the corresponding month last year. However, with the launch of BR-V, we can expect things to change for the Japanese carmaker.
