The MPV story for Chevrolet in India began with its rugged Tavera, which was conceived to counter the Toyota Qualis. But the Japanese car firm had other plans and moved away from the entry-level MPV segment to a premium one with the Innova. Chevrolet believed that the Tavera will appeal to customers as a personal vehicle but it became synonymous with cabs in India instead. With the Enjoy MPV, which was launched in 2013, Chevrolet tried to lure customers with its practical seven- or eight-seater layout again, but it never really caught on as personal wagon and became a pocket-friendly tourist vehicle.
There were rumours that Chevrolet might discontinue the Enjoy completely from its portfolio in India. Instead, the American automaker has gone ahead and slashed its prices by up to Rs 1.93 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Here’s how the new price list looks.

The Enjoy has always fallen short on nearly all fronts when compared to its arch rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Honda Mobilio. But with the entry level petrol variant now bearing a price tag of just Rs 4.99 lakh, the Chevrolet Enjoy becomes an unbelievably roomy option for people who want a family wagon in the price of a sub-4 wagon.
All the petrol-powered variants get a 1.4-litre mill which is tuned to produce 100.2PS of power and 131 Nm of torque. The diesel variants, on the other hand, are powered by a 1.3-litre motor, which pumps out 74.8PS of power and 172.5Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a five-speed manual transmission and the power is transmitted to the front wheels of the car.
