Ducati India expanded the Multistrada family in the Indian market by launching the new 1200 Enduro. The Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro has been priced at Rs 17.44 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. The new motorcycle is the top-spec adventure tourer motorcycle in the Italian bikemaker’s portfolio. The new bike is available at Ducati dealerships in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru. The styling of the 1200 Enduro is based on the standard Multistrada but gets The 19’’ spoked front wheel and 17’’ rear, together with the 200 mm wheel travel to better suit its off road characteristics. Other additions on the motorcycle includes semi-active electronic front and rear Sachs suspension, a gargantuan 30-litre fuel tank for over 450km range on a tank full.
Speaking about the new bike, Ravi Avalur, Managing Director of Ducati India said: “In 2016, with the Multistrada 1200 & 1200 S we are already the leaders in the large sports touring motorcycle category. We felt this was the right time for us to introduce the Multistrada 1200 Enduro for adventure motorcycling enthusiasts. The motorcycle is a perfect combination of Enduro riding style, limitless comfort and is equipped with cutting edge Ducati technology. The bike is perfect for our riding conditions and we’re sure that it will be as successful.”
Powering the motorcycle is the same 1,198cc Testastretta V-twin motor as seen on the stock bike that makes 160PS and 136Nm of peak torque. The Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro sports a Full-TFT colour display that displays the four riding modes - Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro. Electronic goodies on the adventure bike includes Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ride by Wire system, Ducati Wheelie Control and the semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) Evolution. An interesting feature on the Ducati Multistrada Enduro is that the electronic system also detects jumps and automatically adjusts the suspension to provide a softer landing. Another noticeable addition is the Vehicle Hold Control system that holds the braking and assists uphill starts or when the bike is fully loaded. Cruise Control, Hands-Free ignition and back-lit handlebar switches and full LED lights along with Ducati Cornering Lights have also been offered on the new motorcycle. The Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro will compete against the Triumph Explorer and the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure.
