Ducati Multistrada 1200S Road Test Review

Expanding further its product range of exotic and beautifully crafted motorcycles, Ducati India has launched the Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak version in the country. The Pikes Peak version of the sports tourer motorcycle comes with a sticker price of Rs 20.06 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is currently available across dealerships in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru.
Paying tribute to Ducati’s past victory in the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb event in Colorado, the Pikes Peak version of the Ducati Multistrada 1200 bring out the sporty character of the motorcycle. The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb event is known as one of the most challenging hill-climb races in the world.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravi Avalur, Managing Director, Ducati India said: “The Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak is a motorcycle in which touring capability meets performance. With its race inspired looks and cutting edge technology, the Pikes Peak is in a league of its own and we’re sure enthusiasts will appreciate this version of the Multistrada.”
Mechanically, the Pikes Peak version of the Multistrada 1200 has been upgraded with high performance equipment such as fully adjustable Öhlins forks at the front and premium quality TTX36 rear shock at the rear. The design and look of the motorcycle have been further accentuated by the use of ultralight carbon fibre for components and is completed by the Ducati Performance Termignoni carbon fibre silencer.
Coming to the heart of the matter, the Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak draws its power from the Ducati Testastretta twin-cylinder engine that powers the Multistrada 1200 and the Multistrada 1200 S. The motorcycle comes equipped with host of techy features such as Cornering ABS, Cornering Lights on the full-LED headlight, Ducati Wheelie Control, Ducati Traction Control and Cruise Control to name a few. Ducati has also equipped the Multistrada with a Bluetooth module which once linked with the Ducati Multimedia System allows the rider to sync their smartphone with the bike to gain access to manage key multimedia functions via the switchgear on the handlebar and to displays information on its colour TFT dashboard.
