Following on from its official unveiling earlier this month, prices for the BS6-compliant 800cc Ducati Scrambler range have now surfaced right here in India. The big news is that the earlier Cafe Racer and Full Throttle variants have been discontinued, but a new Nightshift variant has made its way onto the scene. It’s joined by the off-road focused Desert Sled variant and the entry-level Icon. The Desert Sled is now priced at Rs 11,80,000, making it nearly Rs 2 lakh more expensive than its BS4 predecessor! For this, all you get is a new colour scheme and 0.8Nm less torque than before. All variants now produce the same 73PS as before and a reduced 66.2Nm.
The Nightshift variant foregoes long-travel suspension and larger wheels, among other things, and as a result, it’s Rs 1.1 lakh more affordable than the Desert Sled, priced at Rs 10,70,000. Obviously, it gets a dark theme, with most of the body panels finished in Aviator grey. Classy bar-end mirrors, a bench-style seat and wide single-piece handlebar complete the look.
The updated Icon variant will also come to India along with a new Ducati Red colour scheme (it’s a wonder they ever sold it without one!). Prices for this variant are yet to be updated, but if the hike for the Desert Sled is anything to go by, the updated Icon will start from around Rs 9.3 to Rs 9.5 lakh. We expect said official launch to take place sometime in the coming weeks.
