Ducati India has expanded the Scrambler portfolio by launching the Scrambler Desert Sled in our country. The new Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled has been priced at Rs 9.32 lakh for the Red Dusk colour while the White Mirage shade has been priced at Rs 9.45 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom, pan-India). Apart from launching the Desert Sled, Ducati India has also launched the Euro 4-compliant Scrambler Icon and Scrambler Classic. The Scrambler Icon and Scrambler Classic have been priced at Rs 7.23 lakh and Rs 8.48 lakh respectively. Bookings for the new Scrambler range has commenced across all Ducati dealerships in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad and Kochi. Also Read - GST Effect On Ducati Prices
The Desert Sled takes its design inspiration from the off-road bikes of the '60s and '70s that were hugely popular in the US. One might argue that Ducati already has a dual-purpose Scrambler in the form of the Urban Enduro, but it failed to strike a chord with bikers and Ducati expects that the new Scrambler Desert Sled with its mix of old-school charm and modernity will change the equation. The bike also gets a revised riding position thanks to the full 200mm extended travel on the front and rear suspension, higher seat (a 20mm low seat option is available as an accessory) and off-road style foot pegs with removable rubber pads. Other design elements on the bike includes raised mudguard, knobby tyres, bash plates, spoke wheels and golden finish on the wheel rims to make the bike look visually attractive.
Powering the Desert Sled is the same 803cc air-cooled motor as seen on the standard Scrambler which delivers 76PS of power and 68Nm of peak torque and is now Euro 4-compliant. Ducati engineers have also made the power delivery smoother, with better bottom-end performance. The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled sports adjustable 46mm dia KYB USD forks up front and fully adjustable KYB monoshock unit at the rear. The bike is devoid of any electronic aids and the frame has been stiffened up. ABS is a standard fitment on the motorcycle. The Scrambler Desert Sled rides on 19-inch front wheels while a 17-inch unit does duty at the back, and both the tyres sport Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR rubber.
