Everve Motors pulled the wraps off its electric scooter prototype at the 2020 Auto Expo. The prototype promises fantastic performance and a host of features to match up to the Ather 450X. Its production version will debut by the end of this year.
The Everve electric scooter looks quite different from conventional electric scooters. Its bulbous bodywork looks quite good in an orange shade. Unlike other electric scooters, the Everve has a central backbone, which eats into the floorboard space but holds the swappable battery pack.
Features include a projector headlamp with LED DRL, LED tail lamp, and LED turn indicators. It gets a large and comprehensive colour TFT instrument console. Like Ather, the Everve electric scooter will feature Over The Air (OTA updates).
The Everve electric scooter will be available in two motor trims: 3.3kW and 5kW. Everve claims the electric scooter can accelerate from 0-60kmph in 8.73 seconds and achieve a top speed of 110kmph though speed has been limited to 90kmph. It gets dual lithium-ion batteries that can be swapped. Together they offer the scooter a range of 100km. Charging time is 5 hours with a conventional 5A socket. You also have the option to charge the electric scooter up to 50 per cent in 1.5 hours using a fast charger.
Underpinnings include fat upside down telescopic forks and twin gas charged shock absorbers. It gets chunky 12-inch tyres on both ends. Braking is via disc brakes on both wheels.
While this is a prototype, Everve promises that the finished product will offer a more premium experience than other high-end scooters such as the Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak, and TVS iQube. How premium? How about a doorstep delivery of the scooter!
