[UPDATE: KTM’s Entire India Model Lineup Is Now BS6-compliant!]
After launching the KTM 390 Adventure, the Austrian bike maker is planning to bring other BS6-compliant motorcycles in India. We have already seen the BS6 KTM 250 Duke, which looks kickass in the new grey paint option. Now though, we have got our hands on the BS6-compliant KTM 390 Duke. According to our sources, the BS6 390 Duke is priced at Rs 2.52 lakh (ex-showroom), making it around Rs 5,000 more expensive than the BS4 model.
Just like its smaller sibling, the updated 390 Duke has also received a cosmetic update. We are big fans of the new grey paint option and hope KTM brings this to other models as well. Besides the new paint option, the other major differentiating factor between the older model and the BS6-compliant 390 Duke is that the new one now gets quickshifter as standard. This feature could soon be seen in the BS6 KTM RC 390 as well.
For now, we haven’t received any word on the engine specifications, but we don’t think there would be a major difference. It is powered by the same updated 373cc motor as we have seen on the 390 ADV, so it is highly likely that it could have the same power output as well (43.5PS and 37Nm). Except for the motor, the rest of the mechanicals bits and bobs remain the same as before. So it's the same suspension setup and brakes as the BS4 390 Duke.
We were expecting KTM to equip the BS6 390 Duke with the same electronics package as seen on the 390 ADV. So it seems like we might have to wait for the Austrian bike maker to give the streetfighter cornering ABS and traction control.
