Tata Motors has taken the wraps off the facelifted Tigor EV ahead of its launch on August 31, 2021. The facelifted sedan will be available to private buyers, and interested customers can pre book the electric sedan at your closest dealership or official website. This time around, the updates are not limited to cosmetics, as the facelifted Tigor EV now features the more powerful powertrain.
So it’s quite natural that we start from this point in our unveiling report. The facelifted sedan utilises a 26kWh battery pack that powers a 75PS/170Nm electric motor. Now, Tata is yet to reveal the ARAI-claimed range, but we expect it to be around 250km to 300km. The battery pack is also backed by an eight year / 1.6 lakh km warranty. And as with all recent EVs, the Tigor EV also supports fast charging and can be juiced up from 0-80 percent in an hour.
Here’s a quick comparison of the Ziptron’s specification with the older Electra powertrain:

Now to the design. The facelifted Tigor EV looks exactly the same as its fleet version, the XPres-T EV. However, the former gets additional enhancements like LED DRLs, projector headlamps, and steel wheels with plastic wheel covers that mimic alloy wheels. Plenty of blue highlights on the exterior denote its green credentials.
Inside, the facelifted Tigor EV shares its cabin with the standard model, albeit with plenty of blue highlights. Even the features list is almost the same, though the all-electric sedan gets connected car tech so you can view vital stats from your phone.
Other notable features include a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry with push-button start, automatic climate control, Harman sound system, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. Passenger safety is taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and hill assist and hill descent control.
Tata will launch the facelifted Tigor EV on August 31, 2021. It’s likely to be priced from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, making it one of the more affordable long-range EVs in India. It will rival the soon to be launched Mahindra eKUV100 EV.
